Baby's Nursery Reveal

I am so happy to say that our baby girl's nursery is FINALLY complete and I am SO excited for the way it turned out!!! I had such a fun time picking everything out!!! ( Although at times it was pretty stressful...haha)

First things first, choosing the theme color for her nursery...there are so many cute options out there such as pastels, neutrals, and yellows! BUT...who am I kidding, OBVIOUSLY I had to incorporate my two favorite colors PINK & GOLD in her nursery...so...needless to say, the colors weren't that much of a struggle to choose from haha

But let me tell ya, her furnitures were SO hard to choose! There are SO many options out there and the prices go from really low to really high! How the heck do I know which one I should choose?  I searched for cribs EVERYWHERE for months after months before I finally chose the one we got! Well to be honest, Her changing top/dresser was the first thing I chose before I chose the crib! When I saw this dresser, I immediately knew I had to have it for her room! It was just too perfect! So then...I worked around the dresser for everything else! My crib search still continued for a couple of weeks after that...I didn't really like this one that matched the dresser and I was also thinking about our next child ( not for AT LEAST 1-2 years tho ;)) and if it happened to be a boy, I didn't want to have to buy a whole new crib so I wanted a gender neutral crib. I LOVED this one and literally ALMOST got it...but I felt like it was a bit too girly and I wasn't so sure about her crib being metal material...
The crib we ended up getting is a basic crib and I feel like it is very gender neutral depending on which crib skirt, sheet, etc you choose to put on. I didn't want anything too fancy so I had an eye on this crib for awhile and it was my back up plan incase I couldn't find any that I liked. The more I searched the more I felt like this crib would go with anything! so...voila! I just went ahead and ordered this one! I love how simple it is and how it will go with any theme we choose for our future babies too!

Now part of me really wanted a really simple, neutral nursery ( all white or grey kind of room) but...since baby is a girl, I just could NOT help myself to have pink and gold for the decor. I kept all of her main furnitures neutral color so we can reuse them for our next baby but I wanted to put pops of pink and gold everywhere to make it girly =)

Tim actually picked out the chandelier that is hanging in her room and it goes so perfectly with her decor! He did such a great job =) ( He is pretty proud of his decision ;))  The picture does not do the chandelier any justice of just how pretty it is in person! It literally looks like cinderella's carriage!!! SO CUTE!

Next, I fell in love with this gold trimmed mirror! I just felt like we can keep using this mirror in her room even as she grows up too and that it was so perfect with the gold trim! I HAD to have it above her dresser! So that was a pretty easy decision to make!

I'd have to say the curtains were one of the hardest decisions to make!! I almost got these curtains but I just couldn't get myself to like that specific color pink. It was too dull of a pink to match the rest of her stuff! So, I almost went with the same style but beige color one but Tim does NOT like beige so he was very against that beige curtains lol So...then I thought I would go with pure white curtains...BUT white blackout curtains are the most impossible thing to find anywhere!!! I was very specific in the material I wanted for her curtains too so that didn't help either! ( a lot of pure white black out curtains are silky material which I did not want) When I saw these curtains, even though I didn't love it at first, I decided to give it a shot and I am so glad I did! I think it goes perfectly in her little room! I also love how well it darkens her room when its shut!

The next fun part was searching for the perfect art work for her room! I literally searched for weeks and weeks for the perfect art work to hang in her room! There are SO many cute nursery prints out there but when I came across the Daisy and bump art work, I immediately fell in love! I knew this one was THE one and I showed Tim and surprisingly he loved it too! So that was a pretty easy decision!! Now the hard part was finding the perfect frame to fit these in! I knew I wanted white or gold frames but I am so glad I went with gold! I am still so in love with these art works!! SUPER ADORABLE!

Her closet is on the opposite side of the crib but I am still in the middle of organizing it so no pictures for now ;)

I linked where I got everything from at the bottom!

P.S. the plush unicorn from pbk ( pictured below) is the first thing I ever purchased for our baby girl ;) We causally stopped in at pbk when I was about 5 months pregnant and I just fell in love with the white and gold plush unicorn and I knew I had to get it for my baby!!

38 weeks bump date

As I sit here on my couch with my big ol belly sticking out, I can NOT believe that we are going to get to meet our baby girl in a few short weeks!! ( or maybe even days!!)

I feel like this past couple of months have flown by and we are finally in the last 2 weeks of our pregnancy!! It's crazy to think that baby girl has been marinating in my belly for over 9 whole months!!!

The hospital bag is packed and her sleep situation in our bedroom is ready! Let's do this!!!

I've been doing lots of laundry for her stuff and I am about 95% done with that! Her clothes are so tiny and cute! Its hard to imagine that a little human will fit into such tiny clothes!!

Our baby girl is SO super active and she is constantly having her own dance party in my belly! I jokingly call her cray cray because she seriously moves around sooooo much! ( esp at night when I am relaxing on the couch) At our last doctors visit last week, the doctor said baby girl is really low already and he said it looks like she may be making her appearance a little before her due date!! so yay!!! we will see ;)

We attended a couple of hospital classes in the past few weeks such as preparing for labor and infant CPR which I think was pretty informative and helpful!

SYMPTOMS: Just like my whole pregnancy, the third trimester has been nothing but enjoyable! However, just recently, I have started getting sharp shooting nerve pains down my inner thighs and it feels like it gets worse (stronger) by the day. Sometimes it hurts so bad, I literally jump in public...I never know when its coming or how strong it will be so its kind of scary but...it usually happens at night while I am sitting on the couch watching TV so I guess its not too bad...I also get a lot of pelvic pressure since the baby is so low now, that can get pretty intense too...but nothing that I can't bare!

OMG one of the craziest symptoms(?) is that my feet got bigger! I heard that your feet may grow but I really didn't think MY feet will grow!!! I am SO bummed!! I heard once they grow, they don't go back!!! What am I going to do with all my shoes!?!?!?! :(
Thankfully, it has only grown a little bit so most of my shoes still fit but some of them that were already snug to begin with, they don't fit anymore!!! ahhh! SO SAD!!!!!! I am secretly hoping that they will go back =)

SWELLING: I am so lucky that I have not experienced any swelling anywhere on my body up to this date! I was so afraid of swelling and bloating but I've gotten really lucky with this pregnancy!! I've always ate a lot of bananas and I've done the same through out my pregnancy so Tim thinks that helped ( potassium) lol and I also kept myself active by swimming daily so that might have helped too! Stretch marks were also a major concern of mine as well as swelling and...lucky lucky me have not had any stretch marks so far! I used this cream on my belly through out my pregnancy which kept my tummy skin moisturized and I heard stretch marks are mostly genetics so if your mom/siblings got stretch marks, I heard no matter what you do, you will still end up with them but luckily for me, my mom nor my sister got any stretch marks during their pregnancy so I may have just gotten lucky with good genes ;)

SLEEP: Aside from waking up to use the bathroom (at this point, I am use to it) , I have been sleeping like a baby through out the night =) yay! No insomnia or difficulty sleeping here!
I do get super tired through out the day (def more than usual) I usually am ready to hit the bed around 11:30pm! (so early!)

FOOD: I haven't had any weird cravings my entire pregnancy and I probably won't have any for the rest either...However, I did have a month or so in the beginning of my third trimester that the only thing I wanted to eat were carbs & sugar! All I ever wanted to eat was bread and sweets ( pastries and chocolate)! Thank goodness that craving is over!!! I still love sweets ( like I always have) so I eat ice cream or something sweet probably once or twice a day ( I know! so bad!)  but compared to what I was eating during those few weeks of carbs cravings, I think I cut back ALOT!!!!! haha Hopefully I don't blow up in the last 2 weeks!

EXCERCISE: I tried to stay as active as possible through my entire pregnancy! I run my regular errands ( going to Target ;)) and I try not to stay seated for too long. I usually swim or walk in the pool at least a few times a week too! But since my last visit, my doctor told me that he doesn't recommend me swimming anymore for the remainder of my pregnancy because I will not know if my water broke or not...so I guess no more exercise for me...haha

That about sums up my third trimester!
Everyday I wake up excited knowing that we get to meet our little nugget soon!
Hopefully the next 2 weeks goes by as smoothly as it has been going!

BABY BABY!

So...it has been SO long since I've written a blog post and thought it was about time that I updated everyone on my pregnancy journey so far!

As most of you already know, we are expecting our very first baby girl in August and we can not be more excited!!!
The baby came very unexpected and we were very very VERY shocked when we found out that we were pregnant! Tim and I had started to talk about starting a family soon ( maybe in the next year or so) but we did not think it would be this soon! haha Nonetheless, we are SOOO SUPER excited beyond words!

I can NOT believe that I am already in my third trimester! It felt like forever and a day to get here but it also felt like time flew by!!

So far, my pregnancy has been nothing but enjoyable! ( aside from the no sushi and beer part ;P)
I guess I am one of the few lucky ones that experienced no ugly symptoms! Actually, there were like 5 days total in my first trimester that I didn't feel 100% but that was about it! Never threw up, never had severe nausea, no cravings, pretty much had no symptoms at all!
My pregnancy experience so far has been so pleasant that I really sometimes forget that I am pregnant...lol

One of the biggest day so far in my pregnancy (aside from finding out that we were expecting) was the day we found out the baby's gender!!!

It was the beginning of April when we went to the Doctors to see if our ultrasound tech can determine if the baby is a boy or girl. ( I was 18 weeks) We told her when we walked into the room that we did not want to know the gender yet so when she examined the baby's bottom part, she told us to look away! She wrote down if it was a boy or girl on a paper and sealed it tightly in an envelope. We were SO excited to find out the sex but we decided we wanted our friends to be there when we find out so we dropped off the envelope at a cake shop and patiently waited until that night to reveal the gender.
And that night, we found out that we were having a GIRL!!!!!!!!

Its actually kind of funny because I was so sure that I was going to have a baby boy! My nurses, doctors, ultrasound tech, [most] friends all guessed ( just for fun based on my [no] symptoms) BOY!
(There is an old wives tale that say that being pregnant with a girl, you experience severe morning sickness, nausea type symptoms during the first trimester but with a boy, its supposed to be significantly lighter or no symptoms. ) Actually, there are several other wives tales that is supposed to 'help' you guess your baby's gender but those all pointed to BOY too!

I was sooooo beyond shocked when the cake revealed pink!!!!

I have ALWAYS dreamed of having a baby girl of my own and I can not believe my dream is finally coming true!!! I had wished so hard for a baby girl that I really thought I was going to have a baby boy ( if that makes any sense?!)
Either boy or girl, we would have been super duper excited but I am just over the moon that I get to have my own baby girl!! ahhhh!!!! =)

A couple of days later, as the shock faded away, and the joy filled my heart, all of a sudden I got really nervous!
I started googling different articles and asking my "mommy" friends how accurate the ultra sound tech usually are. lol I am still a bit nervous if the baby really is a girl but I guess we won't know for sure until she is born! ( But at my 24 week appointment, the ultra sound tech checked again and she said that the baby is indeed a girl =) so...fingers crossed!!)

I know this post is becoming wayyyy too long but before I end it, one more thing, it seems like the number 1 question we have been getting lately is "NAME?"
No, we do not have a name picked out for her yet! I never knew it would be this hard to choose a name!!! haha

Other than that, baby girl is moving, dancing, and kicking around like crazy inside and I can't help but smile every time I feel her kick and punch! We are so blessed beyond words and we can NOT wait to meet her in August!!!!!! I've been really bad and putting it off but...I can't wait to start decorating her nursery too!! ahh! so much exciting stuff =)

Thank you so much for reading!

Master bedroom

Hi all!!

I can NOT believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2015!! This year seriously flew by!!
I guess it is true that when you are having fun, that time does fly!

For my last post of the year, I wanted to do a post about our Master bedroom because that is a room that is so special to me and my husband and thought it would be fun to share with you guys the progress of making the master bedroom truly fit our taste!

Before we moved in to our new house in September, I had all these visions of how I wanted certain rooms to look. From magazines to pinterest, I had so many ideas and dreams of how I wanted to decorate the house. One of the things I really wanted to do was to have an accent wall for the Master bedroom. I thought accent walls had to be "wallpaper". As soon as I mentioned "wallpaper" to my husband, he was like " no, no, no, NO, NO" before I even got to show him what I wanted to do. He was very VERY against the wallpaper idea. So, as the days went by I sort of gave up on my dream accent wall idea. I would go to paint shops and browse their wall paper section but I knew how much my husband hated wall paper so I would sadly walk away every time. Slowly but surely I stopped thinking about having an accent wall in the Master.

Until one day....I came across the Cutting Edge Stencils website.
BOY WAS I EXCITED!!!!!!!!
I immedietly started googling and looking for different wall stencil ideas.
I showed my husband the ideas and he immediately gave me the OK...well...I guess we all know that that is not true.
He said stenciling is one of the hardest things to do especially for such a large space because it always end up bleeding through the stencil and creating a huge mess.
So, I started my research again. I wasn't going to let my accent wall dream slip away again.
I was so determined on stenciling our accent wall that my husband finally gave me the go to to purchase the stencil. YIPPPEEE YAY!

I knew exactly which stencil I wanted and I went ahead and purchased it.
A few days later it came in the mail!!
I knew that I wanted a metallic silver paint for the stencil since that is the color scheme I was going for in the master bedroom but I had NO idea which paint to get.
I searched online and went to Home Depot and browsed the Ralph Lauren section but I felt like the silver I was going for was not "that" silver that they carried. so...my search continued on until I walked in to Michaels one day and found this one. I purchased two bottles and was ready to start stenciling! ( I only ended up using half of one bottle!)

It took us about 3 weeks to actually start stenciling since we bought all the tools but, we finally decided to do it couple weekends ago.

My husband was really not excited about the whole project but....once we started doing it, he was very impressed at how awesome the stenciled wall looked ;)
It took us about 3 hours to do the whole wall but it wasn't so bad. ( we went out to grab dinner in between :))

When we finished, we were both super excited!
It really gives our master a whole new look!!! I have so much more stuff that I need to do to complete our master but I am loving our progress so far!!

The pictures doesn't do the stenciled wall any justice! It looks so much prettier in person with the shimmery paint that gives a different look depending on how the light hits!!!

Here are a few pictures of the whole process =)

Dash stuck around with us the whole time while we stenciled away!

vest

Sweater vest: purchased in Japan ( similar here and here) | Blouse: Old Navy ( similar here) | Leggings: Zella | Boots: Franco Sarto ( old, similar here)  | Bag: Bally ( old, similar here) | Earrings: similar here

Happy Monday!
I can not believe that Christmas is this week!!!
My sister and her family arrived here in Charlotte last week and we have been having a great week spending time with them! This past weekend, we went to a friends Christmas party and it was so much fun =)

Although its the end of December, it still feels so warm here in Charlotte. It was a little too warm to wear a full sweater last week so I opted for this no sleeve sweater over a blouse and it was perfect! I purchased this exact sweater vest in Japan but I linked some similar ones up top! These sweater vest kind of work the same as a fur vest or a puffer vest keeping you warm but not too warm for those days where its not too chilly.

Poncho

Poncho: Old Navy ( old, similar here) | Stripped turtle neck: Forever 21 ( old, similar and on sale here) | Leggings: Zella | Boots: Dolce vita | Bag: Balenciaga ( similar here) | Ring: Baublebar

Ponchos and capes are the comfiest coziest key pieces for winter outfits and I am in love with them!
I purchased this one at Old Navy last year but as I shop around this year, I see more ponchos and capes then any previous years! There are SO many cute options and I want all of them!

I also wanted to mention that these leggings from Zella are the BEST leggings ever! It's kind of pricey so I was hesitant to try them out but I have tried soooo many different leggings and they usually are too thin ( see through) or they start showing wear too quickly so I splurged and went ahead and got a pair last year and seriously, I was living in these leggings all winter long ( last year) so, I went ahead and purchased the same exact pair this fall so I have more than one pair to alternate wearing them while I wash the other pair ( yea, crazy right)
These leggings are high waist so it keeps your belly warm from the cold breeze (lol).
The material is more like a runners leggings than the usual cloth leggings so its strechy with a tint of shine AND its reversible!!!!

If you are looking for a great pair of leggings that are not see through and that will last a long time, these are it!!! You will be in love!!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

OTK boots

Sweater: Purchased in Japan ( similar here and here) | Jeans: Old Navy  | Boots: Charlses David ( similar here) | Purse: Tory Burch | Necklace: Baublebar ( similar here)

I can't believe it is December already!!!
Where did time go? I hope everyone had a magnificent Thanksgiving weekend!
I unfortunately got sick the day after Thanksgiving and have been stuck in bed since :/
The constant weather change has really got my body messed up...I'm hoping these few days of rest will get me better really soon!

Today's post is this fabulous Over the knee boots that I found at Nordstrom rack a few weeks ago! I have been looking for the perfect black pair of OTK boots and when I tried these on, I knew I had to buy them!!! I linked a REALLY similar boot above from Nine West but I feel like boots are something that you just have to go to the store and try them on before you buy it because every foot is different and you really want to get the most comfortable fit for your own foot.
As the weather gets cooler, I can't wait to wear these boots alot!!

I am so SO SO excited that its December and there is only 2 more weeks left till my family come into town for the Holidays!!

Hope everyone has an amazing day!
Thank you so much for reading!
